WHY ARE WE HERE? Isaiah 40-43.

What is the point of our short little lives?

All humanity is grass… the grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God remains forever.” Isaiah 40:6,8.

The nations are a drop in a bucket, a speck of dust on the scales… all the nations [6,000,000,000 people!] are as nothing to Him, nothingness and emptiness…. Do you not know? Have you not heard? God is enthroned above the earth and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers in His sight… He reduces kings to nothing and makes judges lose their minds. He blows on them and they wither.” Is. 40:21-24.

But it is not so with believers like you….

Do not fear for I have saved you. I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and the rivers will not drown you. You will not be scorched when you walk through fire, and the flame will not burn you. For I am your God and your Savior. You are precious in my sight and I love you. Do not fear, for I AM WITH YOU.” 43:1-5.

“Everyone called by My Name and created for My Glory.” Is. 43:7.

Dad's Daily Devotional began as text messages to my family. I wanted my teenagers to know their father was reading the Bible. But they were at school by then. Initially, I sent them a favorite verse or an insight based on what I read each day. That grew into drafting a devotional readng which I would send them via text. I work as an attorney and an adjunct professor, and recently wrote a book called HOW TO MAKE A'S.
