God is a “creative,” if you will pardon the annoying buzzword.
God keeps good accounts. He understands math and science. But creativity is the heart of who God is.
And one of the great things about creativity is that creative people are resourceful, they can work the unexpected problem into the final product and even make it look like they planned it that way.
God sent Jeremiah to the potter, to watch the man use his potter’s wheel. Jeremiah saw that the piece the man was making was damaged, “so the potter formed it into another kind of pot, as seemed best to him. Then the Lord said, ‘Can I not do so with you, Israel?” Jeremiah 18:1-6.
Isaiah repeats it, praying “Lord, you are the potter. We are the clay.” Isaiah 64:8.
God is creative, the ABSOLUTE MASTER ARTIST. Do you trust Him? Do you trust that He knew what He was doing when He made you? HE REALLY DID!
“Who are you, o man, to answer back to God? … Does not the potter have a right over the clay to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use?” Romans 9:20-21.
In other words, why don’t you trust God? He knows what He is doing! He is the Potter, the Great Artist. You are just the pot. Let Him make you and stop telling Him (and yourself) that He failed. God did not fail when He made you!
God, help us to see Your hand in every area of our lives—even the things we like least about ourselves!
