The Old Testament. John 5:45-47

Do you consider the Old Testament outdated, somehow less than the New? It is God’s Word too. It deserves your full respect. Jesus quoted the OT all the time. When He disagreed with the Jewish leaders, He pointed out that Moses was the authority.

“Do not think that I accuse you to the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me. But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” John 5:45-47.

Do you believe the writings of Moses? He wrote Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Jesus says if you don’t believe Moses’ words, then you can’t believe Jesus’s words either.

God’s Word is consistent. The OT is consistent with the NT. Do you believe both? Do you read both?

Ask Jesus to help you read, and enjoy, and understand the Word–ALL of the Word.

Dad's Daily Devotional began as text messages to my family. I wanted my teenagers to know their father was reading the Bible. But they were at school by then.
