WHO IS THE JUDGE? John 5:22-23.

  • The Father has handed over all judging duties to JESUS:

The Father, in fact, judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son” John 5:22-23.

  • Those who refuse to believe in the Son are under wrath ALREADY.

The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead the wrath of God remains on him” John 3:36.

  • But the wrath is not BECAUSE of Jesus or God the Father. Judgment and wrath comes from violating the law—from failing to honor the words of Moses, and from putting your hope in Moses instead of Jesus.

Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. Your accuser is MOSES, on whom you have set your hope” John 5:45.

  • Jesus was NOT sent to condemn or to Judge, but to SAVE. He brings HOPE.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save it. Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God” John 3:17-18.

  • Jesus’s all-seeing eye of judgment is a message of HOPE.

Then the Samaritan woman went into town, and told the men, ‘Come see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could this be the Messiah?’” John 4:28-30.

Jesus is the ULTIMATE JUDGE. But Because He loves you, He also made the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. Why would anyone resist Him?

Dad's Daily Devotional began as text messages to my family. I wanted my teenagers to know their father was reading the Bible. But they were at school by then. Initially, I sent them a favorite verse or an insight based on what I read each day. That grew into drafting a devotional readng which I would send them via text. I work as an attorney and an adjunct professor, and recently wrote a book called HOW TO MAKE A'S.
